It’s all about the vessel…

Flower arranging is one of my new hobbies I’ve adopted this year. I’ve always wanted to be good at it, but it’s something I’ve struggled with. In my experience, the best way to learn is to find family or close friends who are good at it! I’ve learned so much about flower arranging from both my mom and my grandmother.

I also wanted to link a really helpful book that taught me so much about flowers, and the different types of flowers that go into an arrangement (face flowers, filler flowers, texture flowers, etc).

It’s called Flower Color Guide by Taylor and Michael Putnam.

Anyway, while flower arranging can seem overwhelming, one thing I’ve learned is that it’s all about the vessel. If the vase you’re using doesn’t flatter the flowers, the arrangement will look off. When you use the correct vessel for your arrangement, you are setting yourself up for success.

When beginning to flower arrange, I started really simple. I actually don’t even know if you could call it arranging. I would use this bud vase made by Chive, and only use one type of flower. It’s so easy because you only stick one or two flowers in each cavity. In the image above, I went with some simple orange tulips.

I’ve linked some of my favorite vases for y’all below! Just click on the image! (I love porcelain - sorry if you don’t)

Thanks for reading♡
