My favorite restaurants in Athens, GA

Since I am graduating tomorrow, I wanted to do a post about my favorite restaurants in Athens! I included both quick casual bites and nicer restaurants. In no particular order, these are some favorites:

Osteria Olio - 355 Oneta St Bldg C2

A newer restaurant in Athens, but it quickly became one of my favorites! The meatballs are a must, and I recommend going to the bar early for a cocktail. Located at the Rivet House - a great hotel! Definitely make reservations in advance.

The Globe - 199 N Lumpkin St

Great restaurant but also a great bar with fabulous cocktails! I love the pretzel bites and beer cheese.

Cafe Racer - 2343 W Broad St

A newer spot in Athens that quickly became a crowd pleaser - Cafe Racer! They now serve dinner, too! My favorite item on the menu is the Cowboi Biscuit!!

Five Bar - 269 N Hull St

An Athens classic - with only five entrees on the menu! The burger is my personal favorite. Only order the Category 5 drink if you don’t want to remember your night.

Independent Baking Co. - 1625 S Lumpkin St

I love walking to Five Points and getting coffee at Independent Baking Co.! The banana bread is my favorite, but they only make 10 pieces a day, so go early if you want to try it!! They also have great loaves of bread!

Last Resort Grill - 174/184 W Clayton. St

Another Athens classic! Last Resort dessert is made by Cecilia’s Cakes - get the white chocolate cheesecake! The Last Resort side patio is also a fun place to go after dinner for drinks in the fall/spring!

Mama’s Boy - 197 Oak St

Once again, an Athens staple! The biscuit sandwiches are my personal favorite!
