Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe

This summer, my hyper-fixation food has been banana bread. My recipe has no refined sugar and is vegan as well. (I’m not even vegan, but it’s so good.) See the recipe below:

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 5 over-ripe bananas (mashed)

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste

  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup (NOT pancake syrup)

  • 3 tbsp milk of choice

Other Ingredients:

  • As many Lily’s dark chocolate chips as you’d like

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl, mash bananas and mix all wet ingredients.

  4. Add the wet into the dry, and mix. Add chocolate chips or any chopped nuts at this step.

  5. Transfer to parchment-lined bread dish and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out almost clean.
